The Ford Mondeo is a mid-size or large family car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 1992. It is available in either a 4-door sedan, or 5-door hatchback and estate models. It was designed to replace the Ford Sierra in Europe and the Ford Tempo in North America.
Feb 1, 2020 · sensor. There are 2 thermostats. The main stat on the top of the engine and an oil. cooler stat on the waterpump. Make sure the main thermostat has a thick sealing ring not a thin band. Check you cannot. blow through the oil stat. People have found the oil stat leaks out of teh box and sometimes. boiling it before fitting can help.

I have read many post and tried many things to try and cure the problem but nothing seems to work. When setting off, unless you pick the revs up the car will misfire like crazy to the point it will barely move

Jun 18, 2017 · Mondeo mk 3 - EGR Valve blanked - problems since - Kekettykek : II'll go against the consensus here and say that blanking the EGR is quite a sensible thing to do in many cases. I did it on my 1.8 tdci Focus and got noticably smoother running and 2-3 extra MPG, a no-brainer for a £2 piece of metal.
May 19, 2011 · 10 posts · Joined 2010. #2 · May 20, 2011. hi ya. you will need 3 litre"s of antifreeze for your car, it holds about 7 in total, thats if its not automatic. buy it from ford it is good stuff and it lasts years. done mine a few years back when i needed to change the thermostat. the heater is very very good good luck.

Aug 26, 2009 · Thanks for reply but on the petrol 1.8 it is fitted on th side of the head so there are no additional pipes only a water one that flows through the egr valve from the head. The exhaust flows into the valve then back into head (when open). Not sure how it then re enters the inlet manifold. Uploaded a pic for the 1.8 and 2.0 versions.

Mar 25, 2018 · Disregard my post. Had the EGR out today and it was indeed caked with carbon. Blasted it with brake cleaner and gave it a proper scrub, and there has been a noticeable improvement. Overall. The Mondeo is a superb vehicle in third generation guise, a consummate all-rounder with very few weak points. The interior quality isn't quite up with the compact executive models that Ford claimed to have benchmarked but it's pretty good by medium range standards and very well designed.
